Last Years resolutions

Wednesday, 3 January 2018  |  Hannah

So - this time last year our resolution was to blog more often - and whilst we still didn't manage to blog as often as we might have liked - it was an improvement on 2016 so I shall take that as a win!

Coming back to work and putting away last years calendars allowed for a small amount of reflection on some of the great projects that passed through Madmatz and we thought it only fair to share just a few of the highlights.

We began 2017 with one of our favourite clients, the award winning -  Deeside Classic Campers and with a type of renovation which has become somewhat of a speciality for Madmatz- the "Wedding Bus" and Brazilian Split Screen Archie was no exception.

He included a full interior in a timeless colour scheme to compliment with the exterior and was one of the first to include our new engraved champagne holders.
The front was sympathetically carpeted in our German Square Weave set and included all the finishing touches right down to Ivory door check straps.

With the workshop cleared we were able to find a space for project #2 - "Eddie".

Another Split Screen with the spacious "L shaped" arrangement, Richard and Angela of Split Silk Wedding Cars carried the exterior colour right through even from the Buseyes through to the steering wheel!

Opting for a more hardwearing natural Sisal carpet this Fineweave Bran offers practicality and style.
Again featuring a champagne glass holder - this has a fitted ice bucket with satin lined cupboard underneath for display and storage of champagne flutes.

All the panels were upholstered in twin colours and in our style A. See our upholstered panel page for more information.

We were also delighted to hear that Eddie was awarded Best in Show at the Eastbourne Bus Stop VW Show over summer!

Dave & Hannah's bus was next on the waiting list and it was nice to return to the camping side of buses.

Whilst this Danbury didn't require furniture, it did make full use of our Upholstery skills including full cushions for the bed and front seats and Madmatz flooring in the cab with edge trims to co-ordinate.

Curtains and cushions were made using our Accent 2 material "Zig Zag". They opted for Twin sided so the pattern can be seen both internally and externally.

The next 2 projects were back to the cars - Grahams immaculate Karmann Ghia and the rather impressive type 34 "razor edge".

Whilst "off the shelf" products are currently not available for either the Karmann or Razor, our in-house fitting service is second to none. For more details do not hesitate to contact us.

It is at this stage that I realise just how much fun has passed through our workshop and I haven't even got  to August so I realise it is probably best to split this blog over 2 parts!
